Fly your own plane to this grand old 2400-hectare estate. Or take the private road which
winds through fields of wheat, sheep, cattle and poppies, before giving way to a hedge-lined drive
leading up to the entrance of the stately sandstone homestead. Here you’ll
meet your friendly hosts who have opened a wing of their historic home to guests.
Once a children’s nursery, the spacious apartment is fully equipped and self-contained for a
very comfortable stay. Totally private, it features a well-appointed kitchen, large double bedroom
with queen size bed, cosy single bedroom, and bathroom with separate bath and shower. It also
boasts its own sitting room, where you can curl up beside the gas fire and experience the ambience of a
bygone era.
The house, built over a period of ten years and completed in 1835, is classified by the National Trust
and listed on the National Estate. It has been owned by your hosts’ family for the past 100 years.
